Perfect spot for relaxation

Had such a relaxing time! The room had a stunning view of the garden, which made mornings so nice. Breakfast was served cute in bento boxes, and one night, they even offered matcha that I loved. The only bummer was that the parking area was kinda cramped.

Rooms lacked proper cleaning during our stay, with only towels replaced and trash left untouched. Noise from a nearby smoking room disrupted sleep, and thin walls amplified sounds from outside. Breakfast was underwhelming, with identical, unappetizing boxes served on consecutive days. Location felt off the main path, requiring more effort to reach local sights than expected.

Wonderful stay at Ichinomatsu Japanese Modern! The room with the garden view was spacious and featured comfortable beds. Kimonos were provided for access to the private onsen, which was a great after a long day. I appreciated the 24-hour coffee and tea availability and the traditional bento box breakfast with miso soup served in an authentic manner. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the station, offering a quiet environment at night.

While the room was well-decorated, there was a lack of storage space, making it difficult to unpack and settle in comfortably during our two-night stay. We also experienced an unpleasant issue with smoke seeping into our room from a nearby smoking area, which detracted from our overall comfort. Additionally, the breakfast, though sizable, lacked variety and had a less-than-ideal presentation.

i had a wonderful stay at ichinomatsu japanese modern! the facilities were super clean, and the provided yukata was a nice touch. the private outdoor onsen was incredibly relaxing after exploring takayama.

The emphasis on hospitality was notable, especially the attention to dietary needs and the warm welcome from the staff. Accessible to the train station and local attractions, the location was convenient. However, the common areas could have benefited from a more extensive offering in terms of amenities or snacks, and some reservations for the outdoor bath might lead to wait times.

Free Wi-Fi worked great, and laundry service was a lifesaver. Room felt cozy! No pets allowed was a bit disappointing.
